My '07 Spirit at sunset

My '07 Spirit started hunting at idle and stumbling off the line. It sat a winter with old gas in it, so I knew what that meant. I pulled the carb and rebuilt it. This is what I'd buy again.

Know your carb first

The 2007-2009 Spirit 750 (VT750C2) runs one 34mm constant-velocity carb feeding both cylinders. That's straight from Honda's 2007 spec sheet. Don't buy a dual-carb kit. Those are for the older VT750DC Spirit and the earlier Aero/ACE bikes.

Check your VIN or the frame label. If it says VT750C2, you need one kit.

What a good kit includes

Skip any kit that's just gaskets. A worn float needle is half the reason these bikes flood or leak.

Tips from my bench

Bottom line

Buy one complete kit marked for the VT750C2, check the diaphragm, and use fresh gas. That fixes most Spirit stumbles.
